Congratulations to Bradley Schwehr

Congratulations to Bradley Schwehr a PhD student from Curtin Uni on the success of his project on the development of fluorescent dyes.

Bradley was at Epichem laboratories working under the mentorship of Chemist, Jacob Heppell. Brad applied a new strategy, learnt at Epichem, to access critical intermediates and fast track the development of his fluorescent dyes.

Bradley says "These dyes have applications in correlative cellular imaging, whereby the dye can be detected across multiple microscopes enabling the data to be correlated, giving unique insight into the complex relationship between structure and function.

The dyes are based on the BODIPY scaffold, which are known for their bright fluorescence, tuneable optical properties, and biological compatibility."

Best wishes for your future studies Bradley.
